What do the initials IMTB stand for?

The IMTB is the abbreviation for the Influencer Marketing Trade Body a professional membership organisation dedicated to building a robust and sustainable future for the influencer marketing industry.

What is the Influencer Marketing Trade Body?

The Influencer Marketing Trade Body a professional membership organisation dedicated to building a robust and sustainable future for the influencer marketing industry. 

Who does the Influencer Marketing Trade Body represent?

The Influencer Marketing Trade Body is the professional membership body for influencer marketing agencies and influencer marketing platforms.

Who can join the Influencer Marketing Trade Body?

Membership is open to influencer marketing agencies and influencer marketing platforms.

Can individuals join?

Currently membership of the IMTB is only available to organisations.

Why do you have a code of conduct?

The Influencer Marketing Trade Body code of conduct articulates specific requirements for members. These are the behaviours that members must demonstrate when they provide business services.

The Code is set around 6 principles including: 

  1. Act honestly, fairly, transparently and with integrity 
  2. Safeguard confidentiality
  3. Demonstrate responsibility, accountability and competence

What initiatives has the IMTB undertaken to date?

Other than incorporating the company, creating our code of conduct and passing the byelaws regarding process and procedure for the Board of Management the IMTB has been involved in the following:

DCMS Committee Inquiry into Influencer Culture

  1. The IMTB has provided written evidence to the Parliamentary Inquiry into Influencer Culture. 

  2. The IMTB has produced supplementary documentation to the inquiry seeking clarification on points raised by the DCMS in its own written evidence. 

  3. IMTB has provided written context in response to oral evidence from 

Review process for ISBA’s Influencer Marketing Code of Conduct

The IMTB provided further industry insight as part of the review process to ISBA’s Influencer Marketing Code of Conduct. The ISBA code was launched in September 2021.

What is next for the IMTB?

The Influencer Marketing Trade Body is currently working on four initiatives:

  1. Speaking with similar bodies in other jurisdictions about how to share locally and globally relevant industry information.
  2. Looking to forge closer ties with regulators.
  3. Drafting a whitepaper around diversity, equity and inclusion.
  4. Continuing to work with the Parliamentary Inquiry into Influencer Culture 

Who are the founding members of the Influencer Marketing Trade Body?

There are six founding member organisations: Whalar, Ogilvy, The Fifth, TAKUMI, INCA, Tagger. Check out the Register of Members section for more information about each organisation.


Who is a board member of the IMTB?

The Influencer Marketing Trade Body Board of Management has collective responsibility for overseeing the running of the institute. The board’s function is to ensure that the IMTB operates in the best interests of its members, the industry and society at large.
