IMTB publishes new report detailing key regulatory themes which may affect its members in 2026

IMTB has published a new report. Titled ‘2026 regulatory themes for influencer marketing’, the document captures nine regulatory areas members should monitor and take account of when building campaigns and advising clients this year.
Influencer disclosure will continue to be a priority for the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), along with closer scrutiny of new restrictions on food and environmental claims. Around the world, politicians will keep close tabs on how Australia’s ban of social media for under-16s plays out. This is likely to re-ignite discussion around ‘kidfluencers’ and their protection.
Set across 10 chapters, other regulatory topics covered in the new report include the ad regulator batching future rulings by theme and vertical, a potential for a tightening of the rules around AI in ads and closer scrutiny of alcohol advertising.
